Aloha Coaches.
I had an interesting JC coach who always thought of new ways to do things. He was the guy who hated pocked protection but liked going after d-lineman in pass pro and keeping them on the LOS. He was the coach who lined up our biggest strongest hitter on KOR to run full speed at, and decleat, the kicker making him nervous for the rest of the night.
He once told me about a return play his college team had back in the days. I dont know the formation but the basic idea was that everyone, except fot the returner would take a man and just run in front of him. When they got deep enough, or when they were starting to lose position, they would just turn in front of the sprinting player and let themselves get waylayed. This would cause both players to fall. According to my coach there were times when everyone except for the kicker and returner were on the ground leaving lots of space for the returner to out manuver the kicker. I thought it was a fun idea and he claims that his team scored with it.
Anyone ever seen this in action? Do you think it could work ( for PR and/or KOR)?
