Coaches would like to discuss run responsibilities on ball away, I use terms as chase (EMLOS off the Back edge)and collapse (playing Cutback) and check counter (Backside Linebacker). Coach CAmpbell

Tiger indeed. The chase player is responsible for bootleg, counter, and reverses, the collapse player has the cutback and the backside linebacker checks counter as a stimlius response to run away. Coach Campbell
I like the idea of chase and collapse. I think it is extremely useful teaching tool for backside pursuit but I have a couple of questions. The first, can there be more than one collapse person? Say you blitz Will off the weakside edge and play is to the strongside, Will would "chase" and the DE and DT would "collapse". Is this correct? And if so, does that mean the DT would continue more horizontal to say the B/C gap before cutting it up and thus allow the DE to cut up his pursuit in the B/A gaps.
