This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We are weighing the pros and cons of spring ball. We have several key football players who play baseball and we should have a pretty good baseball team this year with a chance of advancing to the playoffs. However, we need to replace virtually our entire offensive line and our defensive secondary and LB'ers...so we feel that spring ball schould be considered. Would like feedback on how you handle your spring sport athletes when conducting spring drills...practice schedule structure and times...etc. Input from all coaches who regularly hold spring drills would be appreciated. pdow
We always hold spring drills regardless of who is not out there because fo baseball and track. Usually if the ath. is good enough to play multiple sports then he he is good enough to pick things up when he gets back. If I was you I would start as late as possible in the school year without interfering with Final Exams. The guys that are out there will get more reps with a few less players in attendance. The more practice a player gets the better he gets. Every little bit helps. We use the same schedule as in the fall with Fridays being live scrimmage days. We end the Spring with a Spring game against an opponent.
we take fridays off during the spring, except on the last one where we have our spring game ( black and gold game ). we sell b-que tickets and raise money. it is nice not to have to get ready to play somebody else. other than that we practice just like we normally do during the season. if they ain't there, then somebody else gets work. which will make them better in the long run. one other thing we do is one day a week during spring training we have a little "friendly" game of pass skel. sort of like the 7 on 7 tournments except everthing has a point value added to it. defense has a couple of ways to score and so does the offense. the kids love it.
