Freshman

I am a high school coach in PA and the school that I coach at currently has a 7th grade team, a Jr. High team (8th & 9th graders), and a Varsity and JV team combination. The JV team is usually made up of the sophomores and juniors that do not get a lot of playing time in the Varsity games. Our Varsity games are Friday nights and the JV games are Monday nights. I am thinking about reorganizing the program to make a 7th & 8th grade Jr. High Team, a 9th and 10th grade JV Team, and a 11th and 12th grade Varsity Team. Obviously if any of the 9th or 10th graders are good enough to be on the Varsity Team, they will be. I am looking for feedback (negative or positive) from other coaches about this set-up. Thanks.
