Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We are a slanting team 34-50, and we are making the move to the quarters concept.
What do you do with the 3 linebackers?
We are thinking about having the 2 LB's closet to flow read 2 to 3. If one goes to flow the closet one jumps his route. The next one plays curl and the backside one plays curl how about you?
I am a little confused if you are playing quarters out of the 50/3-4 your quarters coverage would be the two corners and the FS and SS how do you have three LBers unless your flex/dropping your OLB/DE.
In an effort to keep it simple, aggressive and sound I would recommend the following:
1) The drop end should get the flat, and if nothing comes his way gain depth and look towards the hole anything coming from the otherside(crossing patterns or delays)
2) Have the LB away from the drop end take the other flat or you could collision the the back out with the rush end or do a combination of the two.
3) Lbers have hook to curl or back out to their side if you want to rush both ends. Remember without a blitz and the drop end you have only four in pass rush.
