This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We are primarily a slanting defense. Last year we crowded the L.O.S. and slanted by ripping through. I have also heard some people back their down three off the line to help with the slant move. My question is how do you teach the technique of slanting to your defensive linemen? How for off the ball are you? What is your stance? Please describe the steps involved.
we start our d-lineman off crowding the line...however, if they are getting too deep with their penetration, we will back them off 12-18 inches...as far as technique..we are in a 4 point sprinters stance, we teach it the same as a sprinter in track....we place our hind foot in the direction that we are going(right foot back if we are slanting right)we take a 45 degree directional step up field...if we get pressure we rip...if there is no pressure,we close off of the down block........
