Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I have a question about your Cover 3. We play our Corners inside leverage, 6-7 yards deep. I have heard of two methods in teaching C3 and would like some input. The first involves an outside foot step which involves backpedaling and reading a vertical route from #1, then turning your hips outside towards the receiver and running with him. I have also heard of coaches backpedaling, then opening up to the inside and "pushing" the receiver to the outside staying over top of him. It seems to me that if you turn to the receiver, you leave yourself open to getting turned around if the receiver breaks inside (on a quick post). However, turning inside makes it tough to find the receiver forcing you to stay deep and play the ball. Which do you guys teach/prefer? Thanks.
