Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
If you could pass on any wisdom to a coach installing the gun option for the first time, what would it be? Even if it seems obvious (like emptying the box to run at it or going 7 on 7 in the summer), please share. As usual, thanks for your time and suggestions.
Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.

I would always start by making sure you have the right man at QB. One who can throw, run, and is INTELLIGENT. Make certain you have given all your personnel a fair shake in looking at them, making certain you have the best man for the job at the key positions, be he a Soph or a Senior. Make certain you play the best man for the job.
Your summer time off season preparation period is just beginning and there is no better time to put in your base offense than right now. According to the rules that govern your league, get the projected starters coming out of spring practice together as much as is possible this summer and get to work with BASICS OF YOUR NEW SYSTEM. Teach the QB his reads, the receivers their routes, the RB's their landmarks and their projected paths on every play. I have long had a saying: You can't build a castle without first building a strong foundation. Just my way as always.
