Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coaches I have the O line, Multiple Def., Complete Qb and Ultimate Off. each one refers to a 3 step escape off of a block. However none that I have found, give methods for being off in three. If you have drills and or explanations I would greatly appreciate it.
Although I will ask Coach Campbell to give you a more thorough answer to your question Coach Van Dusen; as I understand it, the technique being played by the d-lineman calls for him to mirror the offensive lineman's first two steps before escaping through the block or through the back door. The goal is to get off the block and make something happen rather than simply locking the blocker out and moving flat down the los.

The 3 step escape will mirror the first step of offensive lineman start the move by second step and release by third step (3 step escape) keeps a defensive lineman from getting to tied up with an offensive lineman. Coach CAmpbell
