Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom

We tried it to keep the Wing and TE from earholing our LBs every play. We put a "safety" over the TE, jammed him and tried to keep him on the LOS as much as possible, then ran with him. We put the DE over the wing and jammed him (didn't do a good job here). The corners were over the wing at about 6-8 yds and read him. If he tried to reach the end, it was jet or option and he filled out side. If the wing went to the backfield, the corner rotated to the middle of the field and played FS technique. The team we played never released 4 in a pattern.
In the past we played cover 2 and put our DEs over the TE, but they were always too concerned about giving up the outside and let the TE down to LB. DBs also weren't good at jamming the wing.
I don't know if we will do it again, but I liked it better than what we've done in the past. We didn't play very well and got taken to the wood shed. I don't think the scheme had much to do with it, but ...
