Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Last year was our first year running the option under center. We used JCFB books and videos and they were first class. We had some success, and we are looking at next year.
The year before we ran the spread so most of the kids and the coaching staff are still familiar with it.
Based on our up and coming personnel, we are looking at installing some Gun option plays or maybe even running everything from shotgun.
Questions for you experienced coaches:
1) What formations and plays should we look to install first?
2) We should have enough skill players, but what kind of O line players would be a good fit?
3) JCFB has some resources, are these worth buying or are there some others out there?
4) Give me something I can forward to my HC to convince him this is the way to go.
I know some of the answers are located in other threads, but I appreciate your answers.

1. possible formations could include, twins split, doubles, and trips. plays can be similar to your normal offense. if youre a veer team, run veer, run your stuff!
2. o-line is dependent on what schemes you prefer, if you are a zone team or more of a trap philosophy, then you need to decide who you will pull most often, tackle or guard or both? get your athletes where you need them.
3. Jerry Campbells stuff is awesome. not just plugging it cuz we';re here, but hes got a system, its an offense, not a bunch of plays. he details exactly how to handle every facet of the offense and obviously is very easily accessible for help with any of his stuff. you could even visit him if you had time/money. he's a teacher of football.
