Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I am trying to get a feel for what each of you teach for footwork for the QB & FB on the OSV, when you are in the flexbone.
Do you run it like the FB belly, with the QB reversing out & FB running a cross over step and the mesh 1 yard deep behind the tackle, or do you run it like the old Houstan 'SB' or Clemson 'I' OSV, with the QB coming straight down the line and the FB taking an angle path to the hole, with the mesh on the los?
Coach Bets,
Do a search on this forum. I think that there may be an old strand where either the OSV was addressed or the POINT method. Coach Easton had alot to say, check it out.
We have our QB take roughly 3 quick steps down the Los to get to his spot. To be honest, you need to just emphasize the "Quick" part and see how many steps works to get the QB to the correct mesh point.
For some it may be 3, others it may be more or less...the key thing is getting to the correct mesh point QUICKLY.
