This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
UNREAL......I thought adults were supposto learn from other peoples mistakes....evidently the new coach will have to learn the hard way!
While AF may be able to recruit a little better of an athlete than Army, they will Not be good enough to sustain a winning program with that style of offense, unless they soften there schedule......
In my opinion, Air Force should have hired an offensive coach from Navy's staff. Right now they are at the cutting edge of the triple option and nobody knows how to run the triple option better.

Sometime, you have to wonder what the administration/brass must be thinking when they hire coaches who run pro style offenses. Don't they realize that they don't have the kids to run those kind of offenses? And the rigors of academy life doesn't allow for the practice/study time to run these kinds of offenses.
And you would think they would look back, to the past, when they had coaches who ran pro/pass happy offenses and the losing seasons they endured.
Army hasn't had a winning season in years. I remember when Army ran the wishbone type offense, they rarely had a losing season. Navy didn't have a winning season until they ran the option. Air Force had success when they stuck to the option.
Now they are going to run the pro style of offense. Throwing the ball all over the place can be exciting, but winning is more important.
Can you say cellar deweller/doormat of the Mountian Conference?
By running a pro offense at AFA, all this coach is thinking about is padding his resume for an NFL Head Coach job. There's no way that they can compete in the MWC by doing what the other guys are doing.
Coaches,
Because of where I am located we get to see Kevin Ross speak on a regular basis. He has absolutely NO CLUE what he is doing. They are running the one back offense that the redskins ran for years. It is the same terminology and everything. He actually thinks they can run and push people over and be very physical with the likes of Notre Dame and other conference opponents. They try to sell their kids this garbage. We take our team to one home game a year to watch and Army is GREATLY undersized and much slower than their opponents. Why is it we see it, but they do not see it? They are calling for Kevin Ross's head, but Bobby will have no part in it. Army is much better under the Ross era (single back offense) than the Berry era (Spread Offense). They understand the importance of running the football, but they will not be successful until they bring in another option coach. They need to bring in Chuck Pedersen or Jeff Monken to run the program. By the way I thought Bob Sutton was the Fisher Deberry of Army football. He should of never been released. They have not had a winning season since his release. It killed Bob Sutton to leave West Point. He loved being the coach. Remember: Bob Sutton was not in the conference USA, but the Independent, which helps with scheduling. Now he is the Jets D-coord. He is probably better off.
Air Force will learn the hard way. Couple of points:
1. Navy's current head coach Paul Johnson was the O-coord for Charlie Weatherbie when Navy was losing. It was the spread option they were losing with then.
2. Army had as many losing season as winning season with the wishbone, but at least they had some winning ones. The past two coaches have had none.

We dont lose any games we just run out of time.
Fisher Deberry
Paul Johnson was Navy's O.C. when they were winning. He then left and went elsewhere(when Navy was losing.) I think.I know he was at Georgia Southern and Hawaii during their glory years.
Coach
When Paul Johnson was coordinator he was only there for two years and NAVY went 5-6 his first year. Last time I checked that is a losing season. Maybe, not by NAVY standards. However, they had a better year in 1996. When Johnson left in 1996, the following year with out him they went 7-4. Paul Johnson is a GREAT COACH and does phenominal job at NAVY. He knows what he is doing. I can not argue with that.

Fisher Deberry
Is Fisher Deberry still doing to do his Clinic schedule?
He is supposed to be coming to Allentown, Pa for the Nike Clinic. To talk about Air Forces Triple Option.
Coach Williams<BR><BR>"Pain is weakness leaving the body"
I was with Troy Calhoun in Allentown and he told me PERSONALLY that he will run the inside veer around 18 times/game. They will use a tight end to run it and are currently debating which counter plays they will use. John, rest assured, Air Force is staying with the triple. If they didn't it would take some serious gifts from the Lord to have any type of success.

You would think he would want to stay with the option offense, just from the comments he made about other schools being able to practice all summer, etc. and his kids taking care of their military obligations, etc. They need to control the clock and move the ball on the ground to stay in most of their games. I hope to see it continue. Good luck to them either way.
