Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I have noticed that a quick draw from a one back set has become popular in the NFL this year. The QB takes his drop and gives the ball while still on his drop. The back seems to attack as if releasing into the hook zone and then takes the ball on his way. Both teams ran it a few times in the superbowl. I think it would fit well with our three step drop series. Does anyone have any information on the play - any particulars?
The way we respond to adversity is a direct expression of our character.
1. Base Zone Draw (essentially block 0/1/2/3 - but with ZONE PRINCIPLES) RB cuts off first DLM from Nose out. This is essentially what the Colts do. There was good film cutup of it on "NFL MATCHUP" (2/4/07).
We like running draw out of our oneback, shotgun set. BOB blocking rules.....our OL gets into pass pro set to influence the DL to rush upfield. I coach the OL to try and influence the DL to the outside shoulder so that a natural running lane is created up the gut.
