Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I think my team may be blocking the option using the wrong set of rules.
I recently finished attending the Frank Glazier MEGA Clinic in Toledo, Ohio where I was able to see Tony DeMeo talk about the Shotgun Triple. Because other coaches who run option were at those presentations, I was able to ask alot of them what type of blocking schemes they run. Most of the guys said they use VEER rules which if you don't completely understand them as I didn't are this: Double the first D-line inside HOK & seal 1st LB to create your crease. We've been using the GOO (Gap-On-Over) rules...sort-of...I entered a system where assignments are memorized (i.e. you have him, you have him, etc.). We run into problems when the guys aren't lined up where they're supposed to be.
So I'm asking for a general opinion to back up my research.
For the Triple, VEER rules are the way to go? Yes, No, maybe So?

Use the near ear rule gonig back away from the point of attack and you will always be right on. Many ways to do this but when running an option scheme we zone backside of the read using the near ear rule of the down defenders to set our schemes. Coach Campbell
