No one on our staff grades their players. This bugs me alot!
I developed a grade sheet last season which helped me tremendously but got away from it as I was also resposible for organizing the scouting & video collection.
Trying to get back to it, here's what I graded on
Feet: 1st Step correct, 2nd Step w/ punch
Assignment: Correct Man, Correct Angle
Block: Tied, Won
Effort: 100%, Follow until Whistle
Bonus Points: Pancakes, Blocking 2 men, Team & O-line goals
Each category above was 2 pts each, 1 each for the items listed. I'd total the points and get percentages but just alot of time it was good to just look down the grid I had made and I could see 0s, 1s, & 2s & know what each of my hogs had to work on.
Is this enough, too much, any suggestions for O-line? Any suggestions to get the rest of our coaches convinced to do this with their positions?
