Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Who is responsible for pitch on ISV to the split side if front angles to the TE? Is it the FS, and if so, is it realistic that he can cover the pitch. As I see it, to the rolled up side, the $ has pitch and the FS is over the top on QB.
Thanks!
If you can "stop the run", the offense becomes predictable.
We have the OLB play qb to Pitch...The Fs will get there to assist, along with the playside corner....Have you ever tried playing Quarters behind your 50 front? You can always roll your coverage to Toss/Option Action....this will place your secondary force players in a more advantageous position to ATTACK perimeter running plays..........
When you angle away from the Dive your BSLB must account for something. We tell our LB's if flow goes away take your proper gap. In this instance-DT is in B gap and Nose went BS A gap....but flow goes away from angle. The BSLB must come over and take PS B or Dive with the DT. This leaves the PSLB and the DE on the Q and Pitch. This should slow it all down until the FS gets there to help. The next question will be what if they run the counter back and you LB flew over top. This is why we tell our FS to sit and read then react. He fits the BS B gap.
