Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I’ve recently purchased and reviewed two of your youth football video programs, Installing the 50 Defense and Installing the Option Offense. I have some questions for you on the blocking schemes of the various Option attacks against 50 defense alignments (5-2, 5-3, and 6-2). I notice in the videos that your blocking schemes are primarily against a basic 4-3 alignment. At the youth level, we normally go up against some form of 50 defense including 6-2 or even a gap 7. My question is what changes do you have to make to your blocking schemes when you have this type of defensive alignment? Thank you for any information or references you can give me on this subject.
Mike good to hear from you. Start when determing your blocking scheme no matter what the front to have your offensive line to find the nearest ear of the down defender and they should be blocking the right person according to type of play called. Coach campbell
Coach Campbell and coach Mountjoy (ONEBACK) ARE DEAD ON IN THEIR ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION.
Whenever I am asked about offensive line schemes and what blocks to use, etc. I always like to add the following in hopes of being of help: Be sure and theach them FIRST AND FOREMOST, WHO to block. Then teach them HOW TO MAKE THE BLOCK. Remember a poor block on the right man is much better than a good block on the wrong man!
