I have seen the films from Gilmer and was hoping one of you gurus on here that run the Alex Gibbs style IZ / OZ could clarify for me the responsibilities for the FB & TE on the OZ & IZ for that matter.
Gibbs' fav formation is the pro I with FB offset weak...on OZ he says that the FB has WLB if play is to him and that basically the TE has the SLB is play is to him? is this correct....I see it as the TE & OT have SLB & DL so that if the DE is in a 9, the TE is covered and the OT works with him and they now have the DE and SLB....
Regardless of my rambling above....what are you rules for the FB & TE?
Does you or your QB make a "Force" call for the FB on OZ if the S/S comes down to a stem position outside the TE?
When do you make a "Lead" call on IZ to have your FB lead instead of go backside?
I understand the basics of the IZ / OZ...just looking for the intrcacies of the system....
TOO MUCH to explain typing. If you choose to PHONE me I can answer those questions.

Basically the FB & TE block BASE rules on Wide Zone. FORCE = FB blocks secondary run support (SS, etc.) to that side. LEAD = FB blocks Will backer in "MAN" call to SE side (he MAY be inside or outside DE).
Go back & watch the tapes over a few times - take DETAILED notes. It will all fall in place!
