Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I'm interested in how you have your inside LB's stunt when they are going to A-gap or B-gap. I've talked with some guys who have the LB take a lateral step and then attack the gap (this step allows the LB to attack the LOS with his shoulders square and flatten down the line and pursue). Other coaches have them run through the inside shoulder of the next inside lineman.
What do you have them do when going through C-gap?
I'm a firm believer in playing with shoulders square; I'm leaning toward the first technique. Any insight or suggestions.
I would rather "rip thru" CLOSER to the inside lineman than the outside one - it is easier to work inside-out. Square up on lead blockers, keeping the outside arm free (AND, don't run around the block).
