Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Looking for some suggestions on how to best co-ordinate your offensive football staff on game night. With a Flexbone Offense, what areas/defensive positions would you have your coaches be assigned to look at. Also, in addition to recording the offensive calls what other info do you coaches "chart" throughout the game. Thanks in advance for your input.
Assign coaches to watch defensive fronts, secondary coverages(WHERE WERE THE SAFTIES?) linebacker play. Our offensive coaches always charted play called, down and distance, what defense they were looking at on the play, and results of play. We TALKED on the phones about who did not do their job on the play (what defensive man made the play).

Adding to what Jerry has already stated, when I would run the triple, I want my coaches to tell me who took the dive, who took the QB, and who took the pitch. If the read key is taking the QB, then I am confident that I can dive the ball all night, pending we can block the interior DL and the inside LB. If the read key is taking the dive, then I am confident that I can pitch the ball outside the force player and make the secondary take the pitch. If the secondary takes the pitch I am looking to do two things: 1. Veer Pass where the playside slot runs a go route and the wide receiver runs a go route; 2. four verticals, which blows the top off the secondary.
That's what I'm looking to do Denny... great topic!

Great ideas from great coaches! I'd humbly add one more thing - if you have a bootleg package assign a coach to watch the DEs; if they aren't respecting the boot and are getting into pursuit to quickly, hit the boot and make 'em pay!
"The quality of a man's life is in direct proportion to his pursuit of excellence." - Vince Lombardi
I always teach my QB's to watch the angle of pursuit as soon as they get their head around on the boot. If he sees it to be too accute of an angle, he will KEEP IT THE NEXT PLAY. Count on it.
