Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I was wondering what strategies could be employed to counter an offensive line that SLANTS towards our outstanding strongside DE. Our second best pass rusher is the other weakside DE, who is undersized, but he posseses excellent speed. Our team's DTs are strong but not very good pass rushers. They were able to stop the run but our front four was very ineffective at pressuring the QB. Thanks for any advice.
If they are running some kind of zone scheme one thing you can teach your tackle is to occupy the so that he can't slide out to help. If he can grab onto the guard and hold him up then he can't help block your end. You won't get any rush out of him but it sounds like you aren't getting one anyway. You should also put this DE away from the tight end if he isn't already.
Really concentrate on the developing of the pass rushing skills of your front four! You have to play the hand your dealt and that's a real test of your coaching skills to get your kids better. Best of luck.
