Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Does anyone have any expierence with the inside veer being run with the C single blocking the NG, PSG up on PSLB and PST arching to the FS. We run this out of a wing set and the wing blocks the #2 player with the dive player being #1. We are running the triple and midline with success but face a team this week where we feel our C can cut off the NG.
We used to run the split-back veer with a sort of hybridized zone scheme--usually we would double and up to second level, and arc-release our TE to the OLB/SS--against odd-fronts, we would at times have our C handle the NT one-on-one and increase the C-G splits.

There is nothing that will show a man's true character like the 2 yard line.
In the 1980's - The University of Houston (ORIGINATORS of the "Split-Back Veer") dropped the Inside Veer ("triple") in favor of a ZONE-DIVE (inside zone blocking), & an accompanying "2 Way Option" off the Zone-Dive fake. This was when Larry Zierlein was "OC". Larry now coaches the O-Line with the Steelers.
