Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
How do you guys defend load option? We play a team in the quarterfinals that runs a lot of option. Load option to the te side really bothers me. Their qb looks to keep most of the time. With their tackle and te blocking on the de and the back leading up on the spur my inside backer will have to go to qb and free to pitch. Normally my de has qb and spur has pitch with free running the alley. I was wondering if anybody has defended this and what ways you did it.
IMO, you need a defender inside the load blocker, outside the load blocker and for pitch. If you are using the FS, you already have enough guys to get it done (spur, LB, FS). If they do this a lot, have a change up ready.
Coach, treat the lead option as if it is Toss Sweep....Jam the TE up with your Spur(play him in a 60), and have your stack OLB and FS get down Hill...Please cheat your Fs over to the TE(1yd outside), because if he is in the middle of the field, he can not get to where he needs to be.....Also, have your corner to cross the receivers face, once he takes his bounce steps....It's imperative to get your secondary involved with perimeter rush attacks........
