We run spread (4 wide) with the QB under centre. We are installing speed option, leaving the DE as the option man.

What do you guys teach your QB with regards to:

-his footwork
-aiming point in relation to the unblocked DE
-keys for pitching or keeping the ball

Pitch unless FORCED to keep. Same on option right AND left.

Ordinarily I jump right into any questions or discussions about the QB mechanics. But, having run a spread for 20 years I NEVER put the QB up under the center as that defeats one of the main selling points of any gun offense, in my opinion, and that is the fact that your QB still has to drop back.
