Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I am in the process of building my own 3-5-3 package and am having some trouble naming some of my stunts.
What I really need some ideas for are single backer gap stunts, i.e. Sam through A...and so forth.
FYI, I am calling my backers as follows...Dog (Str. OLB), Sam (Str. stack), Mike (Middle stack), Will (Wk. stack) and Rover (Wk. OLB).
My preerence, in order to K.I.S.S, is to match the 1st letter of the name to the gap, i.e. Sam through A being Shark or Mike through B being Mob.
Any suggestions that match the aforementioned criteria would be greatly appreciated. I would list those I have already named but this message is too long already. Plus, you guys may give some better ideas to go with.

heres mine
Inside backer package
Mike strong/Weak a gap blitz
stud backers -stab strong/weak strong side or weak side blitz 1 blitzer 2 get both double stab b gap
Gator strong/weak puts stud backer in a gap can go double and get both in the a gaps
wolf puts stud backer in c gap run it strong, weak or double
Mash strong/Weak puts stud and mike in a and b gap if X they change gaps
Combo blitzes
Spear stong/weak/double/X Stud b gap bandit c or d gap. if X bandit and stud change responsiblity
Bullet Strong/Weak/Double Mike goes A gap and bandit goes c or d gap.
Hurricane strong/weak/X/Double X mike a gap studs b gap and bandits d gap. if X bandit and stud change gap responsibility.
I hope this makes sense
Keep in mind the line is slanting filling the open gaps. All the movements are coordinated to fill every gap. Also COverages are coordianted with blitzes to get proper coverage.

I also tried to come up with a system like the one you are trying. But it gave me too many possibilities and alot of different terms to remember. I found this to be easier for me and the kids.
I am looking for the single backer blitzes to be the way I described. From there I will simply need to give combo stunts whatever names I think of. I won't use the position name(s)/gap through rule for combo stunts.
I coach a younger age group (11-12) and have quick turnover of players so we number the backers 1-5 and use that to tell who is blitzing. I.E. Pinch 24 would be DE's pinching and sam and will blitizing. You could expand from there but that is what works for us.
we use the first letter of the LB's position - Sam - Sam knows he fills his gap; Mike - Mike fills his gap; Sam & Mike = Smash; Sam & Will = Saw; Mike & Will = Wham; For 3 man blitz we use weather names - Sam/Mike/Will = Lightning; Mike/Will/Bandit = Hurricane; for 4 man blitz we use war words - Nuclear; Thermo.
I'm in the process of putting together a 30 defense. If it was a single blitz, it was simply a position name. If I wished to blitz more than one, I had a simple word in which the first letter of the position name was included.

You've got to be able to blitz based on formation and hash. You need both! We name our blitzes and use the terms: Field, Short, Tight and Open. So we can send a spur on a "Smoke" blitz from all 4 ways- Field Smoke, Short Smoke, Tight Smoke and Open Smoke.
We will simply call the name of the position. "Slant Sam" is an example...our strong tackle/nose are slanting to the weak side and the sam is blitzing his gap. His gap is C here since he knows his tackle is slanting. The 3 backers need to learn what the front three are doing because that will determine their fit and/or blitz. We have field/boundry and strong/weak built into our calls too so it's pretty dynamic and will allow us to game plan for the offense we are seeing and not have to teach a whole bunch of new terms. Now if you want one of your 3 stacked LB's to go to a different gap (ie; sam to weakside A) then you have to use name's at that point...we don't start doing that until the kids have the base defense down.
we use spur/bandit for outside linebackers. lilber is lou, rilber is rob, mike is our mlber. we run a number of stunts. strike-spur blitzes off the edg, bullet -bandit blitzes off the edge, razor-rdt into b gap, rob into c gap. lazer-ldt into b gap and lou into c gap. cannon-both dts into c gap and rob and lou into b gap. bomb- both dts into b gap and lou/rob into b gap. knife-nose goes to right a gap, mike goes to left a gap. reba-bandit blitzes edge, rob goes to b gap, rdt goes to c gap, ng goes to rt a gap, lou goes into backside a gap, ldt goes into b gap..we use this against certain wing-t teams in our area. lori-spur blitzes off edge, ldt goes to c gap, lou goes to b gap, ng goes to left a gap, rdt goes to b gap, rob goes to backside a gap...again the opposite of reba is lori and we use it against wing-t teams. eagle fire- our dts line up in 3 tech and squeeze guard into controlling b gap, lou/rob blitz he c gap and spur/bandit play in a 9 tech. we use this against full house backfields sometimes. we also use the echo system that was discussed on here some time ago by another coach. no good calling a blitz in the huddle trying to guess, we wait for them to break the huddle, see the formation, know the tendency, call the blitz and the echo starts...worked pretty well last year, other coaches asked us after games and said, it seemed like u blitzed everytime we ran this counter play...we did!!!
