Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I have respected so much that I have read on this forum that I have to post this out there for you coach to consider.
I will have 3 returning DL (4 man front) that will be seniors and one new DT that will be a junior. They understand the tradition of our program and what I have been able to do in the past as our DC.
Being told what has been in the past and working to become part of that legacy are two different things in the mind of some of our kids.
Here is what I would like you to consider: they have been told by me that the last time we reached the state championship game here in IL(2003), we had a DL that allowed me to do so much more with the guys behind them. We dominated our opponents on defense! The guys behind them now are flat out workers...tell them in your own way, AS YOU WOULD BE SPEAKING TO THEM, the importance of a dominant group of down lineman to the success of a football team.
They have heard it enough from me and our HC...I want them to hear it from someone else!!!

Defense wins championships.... The best pass coverage is the best pass rush. Without a good defensive front a team will struggle. We struggled this year because we could not bring pressure to bear against our opponents. I'm very passionate about offense and defensive lineman, the big guys will set the tempo for whats to come but its their comment and work habits that others will follow. Its good to hear from you coach. Coach Campbell
You have already hit upon the thing that always seemed to work best for my DL. That is the selling of the idea that they must fully understand that the secondary is limited by the front that they can compliment.
The more fronts, the more secondary coverages! To call a wrong covrage that does not compliment the front is to invite disaster! It always seemed to make them realize what a contribution they are making by
really going to work and learning the multiple fronts that will enable the secondary to do more and more things to help the team to win!!! I never was one to buy into the theory that high school level players can only handle one or two fronts! Just my way as always.
