HEY COACH,
As a long time HC I am always interested in # 1 - HOW LOYAL WILL THIS GUY BE TO ME AND OUR PHILOSOPHY???
Will he fit in or be a loner type who always wants to do things his way?
Does he possess the personality and moral character that I am looking to build my program around?
Does he come from a winning background, having served under A WELL ESTABLISHED WINNING COACH
WHO IS HELD IN HIGH ESTEEM BY HIS PEERS???
Is he articulate to the point that he can clearly comunicate to his position players?
Was he a player himself?
Does he possess ADAQUATE knowledge of his position to coach his kids correctly in regards to technique, etc? I say "adaquate" because I can usually teach him what he don't know at this point in his career.
Is he a good motivator? Getting his kids to play for him above their ability is the job of any coach!
IS HE TEAM ORIENTED???
IS HE EASILY ACCESSABLE???
IS HE DEPENDABLE???
These are a few of the major tihngs I was always interesed in in making my selction.
