i think it depends on your players. "speed in space is great"....we are an "i' option team and we are looking at the flexbone from the gun and under center......pro's and con's to both. i like the power of under center. ther is still an essence of smash mouth about being under center. at least for us there seems to be. i think by nature, and some will disagree with me, the gun lends itself to be more of a finesse offense. now you can still run your power game from the gun, no doubt
Alot of the teams that run the gun also run certain plays from under the center. It just depends on how much time you have. If you run the split back veer then the action would be very much the same. If you run the pistol and the I formation then again you are running the same actions. West Virginia runs the gun and the I formation, but their kids only go one way.
