Is anyone else going to the New York State High School Football Coaches Association conference in Verona, NY? This isn't a huge conference that draws a bunch of big name coaches, but it's usually a solid conference with good area coaches. I'm not sure what kind of reaction this post is going to get. I haven't noticed that many other New York Staters on the board. We'll see....

One of the guys I coach with has recently had some health problems though so we might not end up going to it.

This year the clinic looks pretty good. It's always a good time. I like the look of who's speaking and the topics. I'm really looking forward to seeing Greg Schiano. I'm sorry for the health of your colleague. I hope it improves enough to not stop your staff from attending. By the way, does the Hornet in your name refer to the FM Hornets?

Thanks for your concern, he is getting better everyday. I'm from way upstate NY. I coach at Plattsburgh High School, we're about 2 hours North of Albany, 20 minutes South of the Canadian Border. I'm interested in seeing the WR and OL coaches from Penn State that are scheduled and also George DeLeone. Do you know if there is a website to see if there have been any changes to the lecture schedule? I've got the link to the original brochure as a pdf file but that's it.

That's all I have as well. No new changes. Their website isn't really updated that often. I had an interview for a Phys. Ed job way up there 2 summers ago. Well, not quite as far up as you are. It was in Moriah. I also got a call for Port Henry, but it was just after I had gotten back to Buffalo from Moriah and money was tight, so I couldn't afford another trip to the far end of the state and back.

I doubt there will be many changes because I don't think there has been coaching changes at the colleges the presenters are from.

I'm a "downstater', I coach in NYC. Havent gone to many conferences upstate especially since the State Association voted not to let us into the state playoffs. Use to go up to some when they had a joint clinic with the old Syracuse staff (Pasqualoni et al) in the Spring.

I was reading online earlier that DeLeone resigned at Temple to take a position with the Dolfins so I'm pretty sure he isn't going to be there. I will see you there.

I was just checking the schedule that's posted online and there hasn't been any change on it. We probably won't know of the changes in the schedules until we arrive on Thursday. I'm counting down the days. The presenters look better this year than the past few years. Plus, a weekend away with the guys is always nice too. I just hope the tables are good to me this year.
