Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Vs trips with a tite end back side and in cov.2, would you stay in two, would you checkout of two, or, roll both safties to the trips side and maybe have a OLB/Spur man up on the TE. ANy thoughts on how you get an immediate flat player vs trips (like in cov 2), thanks coaches
How do you play cover 2 normally in the 30 stack. Do you break the stack look and play closer to a 3-4 type of defense, do you rotate safeties on the snap of the ball etc. I guess we would need to know that before we can begin to adjust you.
You could play a 3-4 look rolling trip side corner up, the free safety over the top. The trip side invert splitting 2 & 3, with the closed side corner and safety playing the other half and boundary. You would then slide Backers over guards and play the TE side LB in a 9 tech or a ghosted 70 or however you would prefer. This defense would be fine if you had a 2 Gap NT. Of course you also change the reads of the LBs.

Stab backside with Blood safety and Corner over the top in Rainbow coverage or send Blood and man up with that Corner. One adjustment to trips we make is to leave the Corner in the flats Safety cover outside half and we drop either the Outside Lber or Mike backer as a deep safety. They read #3to#2to#1 receiver on his drop. In order to make it work the Rover MUST chip or DROP #3 reciever on his way to the hook/curl. We also drop the Corner in halves coverage and rob the flats with our Safety.
