Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coaches wanted to your thoughts on a situation. My best defender is a 6 foot 1, 245 lb athlete who would demand a double team if put at Nose, or be my best ILB. I dont have much behind him at nose who can demand a dble like him, but i also dont have as dominant of a Lb either. Where would you put him? Should him being looked at as a potential d lineman in college come into consideration?
Rose, you can put a lesser athlete at nose, and he will demand a double if you slant him....Your Playmaker needs to align at Mike Backer so he can Fill, Scrape, Shuffle, and Make Plays 4U.......
I would say your best athlete should be at that mike backer, however your OLB's/SS's need to be real studs as well. They need to be able to cover one-on-one in the passing game, rush the passer, and keep leverage on contain. Lets face it, if you're playing good football teams, you can't hide anyone--you'll be exposed sooner or later.

There is nothing that will show a man's true character like the 2 yard line.
At 6'1 245, and PROVIDED HE IS A PLAYER AT THAT LEVEL, in college he may just be made a DE. Of course, he is still a pup (still growing) and unless he plays below the Div.1-A level he would not play D line
at any other position. At the HS level, I would agree with those who say put him at LB. Why make him have to fight through a double team all night long at nose, when he can move and make plays for you? Just a suggestion as always.
