Anyone out there looking for a semi-young (29), energentic, highly motivated coach? I love my current coaching situation and it will be tough to leave. However, the school district I work in is a dead end for teaching for me. The oldest male PE teacher is only 40 and the school isn't growing. They've been great about finding positions for me within the high school. I'm currently a TA. However, being a TA doesn't exactly get things done on the financial end of things. My wife is also PE certified and we're both looking for jobs. She coaches throwers for track and field. We are willing to move if required. Thanks.

Contact LOU CELLA at: CellaFBall (that's all there is to his email) as he has just accepted a head coaching job in eastern Pennsylvania and is building his staff. Lou is a personable young man and a good coach with college and HS coaching experience both. He runs the option and I believe he is running a 4-3 defense, although I am not sure of that. He is a Christian and I'm sure you will find that he runs a good program! Please feel free to tell him I said you should contact him. Good luck!

I've talked to Lou several times in the past, both on here and on aol imer. He has told me that I coach at his "dream school" He's been to Cheektowaga on a trip before and liked the location and look of the school. I sent him an email congratulating him on his Head Coaching job. I just didn't think it was the right time to ask for a job. I might contact him now that you said something. Thanks for reminding me.

I know there is a head job up in Anchorage, Alaska at Dimond High School. It's a school of about 1800 students and is in a pretty competetive conference. A friend of mine just resigned due to family reasons and has left the program in really good shape financially and organizationally--they need a new face up there. It is pretty good football, and there is a severe shortage of coaches. I don't know if they've filled it, but if you're up for it, call Kevin Theonnes--the Activities Principal up there. Not a bad gig.

Well, graduated and when I played are two different situation due to financial matters. However, I played there from fall 1996-fall 1999. I'm pretty much looking at NY, PA, Mass, Conn, maybe even further south. I've got a 2 year old and my family lives in Syracuse. So, I'm trying to stay a reasonable distance, 7-10 hour drive max, away. I think it's important my daughter knows her grandparents and aunt and uncles.

Coach Easton,
Thank you. I appreciate your help. I actually emailed back and forth with Lou last week. He let me know the situation there. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there's a Phys. Ed. job to go along with the coaching job. I'm only looking to move to a new coaching job in the event of a Phys. Ed. opening.
I love my current coaching situation. We're moving in the right direction as a program on field and off field. The football program is currently the model for all other sports teams in the district as far as the administration is concerned. Most of the coaches are within 5 years of age of each other, late 20s-early 30s. Four of us have children under 2 and within 7 months of each other. Two others are expecting their first child over the summer. Four of us played together in college. I have learned a ton from my experience here. It really is a great situation. The only problem with the whole thing is that I need a full time teaching job for financial reasons and the oldest male Phys. Ed. teacher in the district is only 40. My biggest fear is getting a teaching job in a district that the coaching staff isn't as close and doesn't get along as well as we do.
Anyway, now that I'm done airing out my little issues and fears, thanks again for the help. You're always a great help.

A school in my conference is currently looking for an Offensive Line coach and the school district has 3 elementary PE jobs posted currently. If interested PM me and I can try to help you out a little. I used to teach in that district and I know the HC pretty well.
The school is in Western MA.
If you are looking bigger there are at least 2 Head Coaching openings in Springfield MA at the moment too and it would be a very short commute from the elementary PE openings I mentioned.
