Which Side To Have the Center Blcok?

Block to TE side if uncovered! This gives you 4 blockers to the QB's "blind side" (MOST pattern combos in a 3 WR set are AWAY from the TE side)!

That is CERTAINLY another good way to do it.

REASON we block Center towards TE side (when uncovered) & RB to the open side is that if (in our "BOB" protection to the open side) the RB's assigned ILB DROPS - he can look for Safety Blitz off the edge (double read). He can "check out" if neither comes.

This is one factor that helps us AVOID "HOT" reads!

Chris Brown's pass protection site is very well done.

Use 7 man protection with 3 free releases & 2 check releases. Like the REDSKINS - if you used a ONEBACK Set - they can't bring over 7 people, & 7 man protection is enough.

In a TWO BACK Set - they can bring 8, so you can have 8 man protection by free releasing 2 & check releasing 3.

We have used the above thinking since getting it from the Redskins in 1981.

Joe (& the HOGS) weren't there in 1980 (they got there in 1981).
