Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
In 2002 we ran the Jet Sweep as our base offense. A defense that will hurt the entire Jet Series is a Split-6 (33 Tight) and take your two outside linebackers, and make sure they are outside shade of the halfbacks. Tell your outside backers to abuse the halfbacks and drive them into the ball carrier. That destroyed us when we ran it. As a defensive coach in the multiple-40, that is what I would use to stop the Jet.

I do run Coach Campbell's Defense verbatim and I like 33 Tight better, because if you put the outside linebacker on the halfback's face, that's a tough thing for the halfback to handle. The reach on the OLB is very, very difficult. Go with the 33 Tight.
