I have heard different ideas about blitzing the spurs. Do it often. Only bring the pressure from the three middle backers. Only send the spurs sparingly. I would like to hear some more input to help me to decide one way or the other. Thanks.
I think you have to blitz them. That's the beauty of the 35....If you don't blitz them, I feel the defense is not being used to its fullest. Gameplanning might cause you to blitz them more or less, but the possibility of pressure off the edges is one of the keys of the 35 to me.

There is nothing that will show a man's true character like the 2 yard line.
gameplanning will always dictate whether or not you can blitz them, if there are legitimate threats as #2 recs then you must have a plan to either blitz and free them up with zone cov or have someone else cover and lose half field help.

Why play a 50, and only bring heat between the tackles?? The objective is to make the offense play Defense...When a Flank/Spur blitzes, a Stack backer should replace him in coverage(curl 2 flat).....:disgust;
Make sure that the Spur Safeties are coached up well on how to blitz. In too many cases they blitz awkwardly and take themselves out of position to make the play that they should make.
Never five QBs, RBs, TEs, WRs, on the field every play, OFFENSIVE LINEMAN RULE.
