Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coach Campbell, or anyone else with experience running the pistol offense, have you run midline out of a 3 wide 2 back set? I would run this towards a 3 and a 5, reading the 3 tech for dive and 5 tech for pitch. Looks OK on paper but was curious if any has had success running midline without a TE.
Thanks,

I would think that coach means the pitchback, if you didn't use one then you would be running a QB belly with the QB reading the dive key and then having the ability to come off with him running the ball if the the dive is not there. It is also a great play if you false key the pitchback. Hope this helps.

The "Cowboy" technique as I call it does pertain to the pitch back with a triple option approach. The Cowboy can come from an offset back or from any slotted offensive player. With a trips formation it probably would be the number 3. Coach Campbell
As coach mentioned before the midline is a great play and to get the utmost out of it use your imagination and you'll have alot of fun. A good book is Coaching Football's Midline Option by Jeff Walker and Terry Siddall.
