Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
THE ONE THING THAT IS IMPERATIVE THAT MUST BE TAUGHT IS FOR THE TRAPPER TO TRAP ON THE OPPONENTS SIDE OF THE BALL AND NOT ON YOUR SIDE! THIS REQUIRES QUICK FEET AND SO MY FAVORITE DRILLS ARE NOT ACTUAL ON FIELD DRILLS BUT RATHER THE DOTS, THE JUMP ROPE, AND THE LADDER DRILLS. THE PROPER PATHS OF THE TRAPPER IS WHAT I ALWAYS EMPHASIZED IN ON FIELD DRILLS, MAKING THEM UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES REQUIRED TO HAVE A CENTER STEP TO A BACKSIDE 3 TECH FOR EXAMPLE, VERSES A TRAILNG GUARD ON HIS WAY TO KICK OUT A DE, ETC. ALWAYS USED CONES, FIRE HOSE, ETC. TO MAKE SURE WE HAD THE AIMING POINTS CORRECT!
Just my way as always.

Tiger One thank you very much, football is a great sport and it is very helpful to get other coaches opinions, I don't think you or Oneback have ever let anyone down. Thanks!
We work the TECHNIQUE over & over. No particular DRILL - just line up & DO IT (vs. bag or live).
Here is the only trap block we use:
"TRAPPER” (OFF G ON COUNTER/H ON POWER) = OFF G ON COUNTER PULL THRU THE FOOTBALL (into the LOS for an inside/out approach). H ON POWER BE IN PLAYSIDE B GAP ON SNAP. THERE IS NO READ, TRAP THE E.M.L.O.S. (“DIG HIM OUT”) - ATTACK HIS INSIDE NUMBER. IF HE GETS LOST INSIDE, IT BECOMES A NATURAL “LOG”. DON’T THINK “LOG”, THINK KICK HIM OUT!
