Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I want a warmup that is just for the offensive line. I don't want them doing the dl or wr routine. I want them to warmup for the specific thing they are going to do in practice. If you have any suggestions I'll be glad to use them. I think that the old way of static stretching (feet together, etc) does not prepare the OL for practice or the game.
Practice short 6" jab step (both ways) and shooting hands ( punching) with palms to the opponent's sternum with enough power to STOP HIS HEART BEAT WHILE LIFTING HIM OUT OF HIS SOCKS!!! Have one player hold bag or shield for 5 reps and then change up. KEY COACHING POINT: Have the OLM keep his hands CLOSE TOGETHER, NO FARTHER APART THAN IF HE HAD A PAIR OF HANDCUFFS ON!!!
This drill comes from Joe Bugel, OL coach of NFL fame. I installed this method when I heard about it from ONE BACK who knows Joe personally. IT WAS THE BEST THING I EVER DID FOR MY PROFESSIONAL MINOR LEAGUE TEAM TO IMPROVE OL PLAY!!!

I3A coaches warm-up is great and definitely serves a purpose. You might try an active stretches for a warm-up that are simple to the moves of the linemen. If you pull alot then have them do the proper movements, you could have them do coaches drill and then have them get upfield to the second level. Hope these help, the six inch step is very good, out here De La Salle does it almost everyday of the year.
I just mentioned one specific exercise to work on. We incorporate all of our blocks (drive, double team, combo, reach, fold, etc.) in our everyday warm up drills. ON GAME NIGHT we do as Bill says, OL vs.DL
with light resistance.

I3A another drill that Oneback recommends a for the combo block. All four hands on the D-lineman and all four eyes on the LB, a great tool and if your using this type of block, a very good technique. The walk-thru of the plays at full speed can be done everyday in pre-practice.
