Tom Nugent came up with it (at VMI BEFORE he went to Maryland).

Best plays were SAME as a Power-I (ISO with 2 backs leading TB; and, Power Off Tackle with the up back kicking out the EMLOS & the 2nd back in the stack leading thru the hole - with the deep back carrying). These plays are used by all "I" teams- he just had an extra blocker in the "I". I had a good friend (Rex Collins) who held the Maryland single game rushing record while playing TB for Nugent - he didn't LIKE the full-I because he said there were "TOO MANY ASSES IN THE HOLE"!!!!!!!

MOST OF THE TIME - Maryland shifted out of the stacked "I" to some form of a "Pro-Set" (same as Hank Stam did winning the Super Bowl in 1969 with the Chiefs)!
