Coach Easton,
I would like to thank you for making the book about quaterbacking which you have put together as well as all the help you've given.
Any coaches who would like detailed info about how to build and teach a quaterback, Coach Easton's book is highly recommended. A great brreakdown of everything you'd need to train your QB's.
Most teams will open their seasons this coming friday, which gives you 3 days to complete final game plan adjustments for opening night. Here are some suggestions that we always use that you may find helpful.
1. MAKE CERTAIN ALL ASSISTANT'S KNOW THEIR GAME NIGHT ASSIGNMENTS, i.e. WHO WILL BE IN THE BOX, WHO WILL MAN THE PHONES ON THE SIDELINES, WHO IS IN CHARGE OF CLOCK MANAGEMENT, WHO WILL GIVE THE TEAM MANAGERS THEIR CHECK LISTS TO MAKE CERTAIN ALL THE BALLS, WATER, ICE, ETC. ARE ON THE SIDELINES AND READY TO GO, WHO WILL CHECK OUT THE HEAD SETS TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE WORKING, ETC. WHO WILL MAKE CERTAIN THE TAPING OF THOSE REQUIRING IT HAS BEEN DONE??? THESE ARE BUT A FEW OF THE THINGS YOU CAN NEVER TAKE FOR GRANTED COMING OUT OF THE CHUTE FOR YOUR OPENER.
2. MAKE CERTAIN THOSE MANNING THE PHONES KNOW WHAT YOU NEED TO HEAR, AS WELL AS, WHAT YOU DON'T NEED TO HEAR. REMIND THEM TO STAY CALM AND TALK IN CONVERSSATIONAL TONES ON THE PHONE, NO MATTER HOW TENSE THE SITUATION GETS. THIS IS THE MARK OF AN EXPERIENCED STAFF.
3. DON'T BE A YELLER AND A SCREAMER ON GAME NIGHT! STAY IN THE TOTAL POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT MODE WITH THE PLAYERS ALL NIGHT LONG. LET YOUR CALM DEMEANOR BE SEEN AS IT HAS A CALMING EFFECT ON YOUR PLAYERS.

Teach your receivers to stay LOW coming out of their stance in the PSL. Teach them to SIT DOWN in the void of a zone cover scheme and not to RUN THROUGH IT as that is a good way to get decapitated.
Make sure they always align with their OUTSIDE LEG BACK IN THEIR STANCE, otherwise they will be a step behind.
Those of you who run option attacks, know that most options that break for big yards always break in the outer 1/3 of the field. SO, HAVING ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT BLOCKS ON THE PLAY, MAKE CERTAIN YOUR WIDEOUTS CAN STALK!!!
For those of you who run passing attacks, make certain your receivers know beyond a shadow of a doubt, WHERE THEIR ROUTE FINISHES AND THE CATCH IS TO BE MADE. OPENING NIGHT IS ONLY TWO DAYS AWAY.
