Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
We are using a sticker policy, where the players get helmet stickers based on team goals that are reached. Anyone have any ideas on some team goals....here are some that I was thinking of
under 13 points allowed
under 100 yard rushing allowed
under 100 yards passing allowed
2 or more turnovers
2 or more 3 and outs
5 or more get off the field on 3rd downs.
Anyone else add any on here? Coach E have you done things like this in the past?

We had skull and crossbones for oooh hits. Only gave that one out for really big hits. Also gave stickers for game changing plays, int's, sacks, blocked punts etc. We also only gave out stickers after wins.
DEFENSIVE TEAM GOALS WERE ALWAYS SET AT: 1. CREATE TURNOVERS!!! 2. LESS THAN 100 YDS RUSHING!!! LESS THAN 75 YDS PASSING!!! NO DUMB PENALITIES SUCH AS OFF SIDES, LATE HITS, ETC. NO LESS THAN 3 PLAYERS IN ON EVERY TACKLE OF A RUNNING PLAY!!! NO LONG PUNT RETURNS OR KICK OFF RETURNS OVER 20 YDS!!! THESE ARE WHAT I USED ON THE HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL.

we used a "black watch"(went on opposite side of school logo of helmet) for the starting Defense if they shutout the other team. They were an elite group with a big goal attained.
I would suggest that you take what you feel worthy from the suggestions above and then add your own.
I forgot to mention I always gave a sticker for fumble recovery.

When I was a player on JV in HS, the coaches would give out hlemet stickers for indidual and group goals met. One player on our team would try to get stickers he did not earn (e.g. KO team had earned a sticker for the previous game, he would go get a sticker from the coach even though he was not on that team).
After about two or three games of this, most of the rest of us peeled the stickers off of our helmets. Some guys even took the stickers from their helmets and pasted them on this other kid's helmet. When we went out for practice the next day, most of us had no stickers and this one kid had his helmet just about covered with them. Looking back I feel somewhat bad for this kid becasue he must have felt ostracized (even though he had asked for it).
The point is, I don't like helmet stickers and such things that exalt the individual over the team. IF you give out stickers, I would never give any out after a loss to anyone. Any player worth his salt would not want a souvenir or token of individual recognition after a loss.
Just my two cents. Ohio State gives them out like Halloween candy and their program is doing just fine.

When you say that all are team awards, do you mean that if the defense holds a team under 6 points, every player gets a sticker? Just looking for clarification. Also, could you send me your offense and special teams criteria as well. matthew.evancho@svpanthers.org

We have nine possible awards for our players to earn. If any part of the team achieves one of these, all the players get the decal.
1. Win
2. Gain 300 yards of offense
3. Plus 2 turnovers
4. Shut out (2 decals)
5. hold to 6 or under
6. hold opponent to less than 175 yards
7. tackle opponent inside 15 yard line
8. Average 25 yards on returns
9. Hold opponent to 10 yard average on returns
Thank you for the response. I really like this approach because even the players who do not play have a job to do during the week and I am thinking this could get them to take more pride in preparing the starters for each week's opponent. THanks.

We give a helmet sticker for any player that grades out at 85% or higher. Over the years I have evaluated the law of large numbers and the statistics that goes along with grading film and the numbers show that any time your team ave. 85% you win the game so the 65% is the prime factor for grading our athletes.
