Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
I am searching for information on the " Okie Dog Pinch " defense use by Notre Dame in 1974 agianst Alabama. I have a strong double tight wishbone team comming up this week and I am looking for options to shut down their offense. We run a 5-3 base withe stunts and blitz packages. Any help would be great. I can be personal e-maled at team1larosa@optonline.net. Thank You.
The 9s have contain/rush (up to you if they peel off on back out wide to their side). The 6s blitz through c gap. The 4s (we have them in 4i) crash through B gap. Nose is a two gapper. CBs are in man on the ends, about 8 yards off. ILBs have RBs out their way.
You cannot call this too often vs double-tight full house. I have tape of us destroying a full house offense in our first game this year if you want to see it.
Thanks again to Coach Mountjoy for teaching me this defense.

Is there anybody on the forum who is a 4-4 base who uses this defense? How do you check into this? Who moves? We play a team who runs some power I in a few weeks and I was just wondering how any other 4-4 defenses check into this. I just worry that it would be too difficult to recognize the formation and get so many people moved before the offense snaps the ball.
He's a better run defender than pass defender, but he's pretty light and I'm not sure how well he would do trying to plug A gap. I think he would do ok but he would really be better if I could find a way to get him as one of the guys coming hard off the edge. Thats a long way for him to move though, especially if we have to check out of it back into base.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND CALL ONE BACK. HE KNOWS THIS DEFENSE!!! I GOT IT FROM HIM AND IT IS A GREAT DEFENSE AGAINST ANY AND ALL 3 MAN BACKFIELD SETS!!! HE WILL SET YOU STRAIGHT.

The easiest thing would be to walk up one of your inside backers to the nose put your outside backers in the c gaps and have your safety be an inside backer, without knowing your personnel I don't know if that would work for you.
I HAVE this defense as given to me AT ND by Ara Parseghian (& his Defensive Assistants, George Kelly & Greg Blache). You can run it from ANY front.
I CANNOT take the time necessary to type it here (no coach has THAT much spare time in-season).
In December, 1973 - I drove 14 hours thru a BLIZZARD from Richmond, Va to South Bend, Ind - to watch them install if for the Alabama game in the Jan. 1974 Bowl game, and to bring the DETAILS back to my program!
IF IT IS IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO YOU - phone me at 804-378-0116 (up to 10 PM/EDT). If it ISN'T important enough to call - you don't need it that bad!

The Farmingdale Hawks is a youth football program that starts at thr 5/6 year old level and we continue to the 13/14 year olds. Then we pass the boys to the High School. Many boys play on the Junior High / High School teams and play for the Hawks at the same time. Along with the Hawks I coach at Hofstra University for Dave Cohen at his youth camps.
