Been awhile since I did an update on my situation. This is my second year as an assistant with this program and it has been a great blessing so far for me. I am pretty lucky about where I got to start out as a high school coach and hope to parlay that into more success.
Last year in my first year I got to basically tag along learning the system as we went on to win the state title winning 50-7 and setting a new record for offense in a championship game. Now with this being my second year I am taking on a more confident role since I now understand the schemes and coaching the defensive line. So far this season the sophomores I help most with is 3-1 and the varsity is 5-0.
Varsity last Friday tied the Utah state record for most consecutive wins. And we are favorites to win our third straight state championship. I really do feel lucky to be with this staff since I am learning as much as I am.
