This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
i'm a Gun convert this year and having great success with it.how do you answer the critics who say the dive portion of the play is too slow out of gun?loved your post on Gun Option section about "why gun" and thought you'd be best to answer this. i have not felt that we are not hitting the hole that much different speed wise as we ride downhill like tebow.plus the cutback possibilities are huge for us.thanks.

Don't worry about the critics run what you run best. I have run the gun option attack since the mid ninties, a fun offense for the kids and they get to see it each week at the college level on tv. Keep doing what your doing. Do you run the veer with your gun? Coach Campbell
good advice coach.no question the kids love it.my Qb's say the mesh and reads are much easier out of Gun.we run Gun triple (DEMEO but splitback) 60% of our plays. a little boring but the kids are great at it.the cutbacks make traps and counters unnecessary and its a whole offense in itself.
do you think the dive phase is slower since you switched to GUN?

I find that it hits a little slower from the gun, but as someone who has done it both ways I can say I've had much more success with the Veer from the gun which is one of the big reasons why I run it exclusively out of the gun now. Although it hits a little slower my QBs get a much easier read off of it and get a little better angle clear the edge.
two things i would say from the last two posts. your Fb has to become a second level blocker if he doesn't get the ball.this is critical and needs to be taught. secondly DEMEO teaches" better wrong than long" out of GUN . also found this to be true. not looking for a long ride as in UC. read it and if DE can't get his head in front of RB then LEAVE it and establish the Fb.

TD4C intersesting there are two thoughts here depending on type of play. We don't teach our fullback to block if the QB gets the pull read, we have him run out the backside to pull the defender that the QB was reading away with him. Coach CAmpbell
