Coach inside veer is built around option on a 5 tech. with a tackle on an inside veer release. Stick have you read the veer option section of my manual.. Coach CAmpbell
I don't have the manual. I know what the veer is and how to run it but I thought "veer blocking" was an actual scheme. Is there anyway that we could list the different kinds of blocking schemes and what the rules are for each? Maybe list 1 a week and let everyone put in their input on the subject. Examples: Inside Zone, Outside Zone, Trap, G-scheme etc. Thank you for responding coach, I along with everybody else appreciate everything you do!
Stick - Our inside veer uses 2 schemes - the first one which we call "12-13 Seal" has the QB reading the first man on or outside the Playside tackle. The play side end veer releases if the tackle is covered and short veer release to the playside lb if the tackle is uncovered. The tackle double combo's with the playside guard if the guard is covered(2 or 3 technique) and do - dads to the pslb if the guard is uncovered- Guard's rule is on-inside basically he has the 1st lineman from his outside shoulder to head up the center. The center rule is On - backside - LB - backside is zone. The second scheme is called 12-13 Zone - this is a zone scheme with the tackle outside releasing to the PSLB - we use this against 50 fronts only. One of my friends who is also an option coach - had a simple concept he said on any veer play - outisde, inside or even midline - the 1st lineman past the hole would be read the 1st lineman inside the hole would be double team and everyone how is uncovered walls LB's. We are working on getting out line calls more uniform and less confusing - I like the combo stuff form Coach Campbell but need to adapt it to our terms.
