Oneback,
Are there advantages from running IZ/OZ from under center versus out of the gun? I will be installing zone for the first time from the gun and feel the RB from the gun is at a disadvantage compared to a TB receiving the ball from a one back formation. It seems to me that the TB out of a one back formation gets the ball deeper, shoulders are square and is going downhill sooner, receives the ball closer to his read key which should help him in making his cut or no cut at the LOS off the 1st or 2nd down lineman. Are there any adjustments or advice for the RB out of the gun? Thanks in advance
CoachMac because the running backs are aligned behind the QB who is at least 4 yards deep on the Zone play and the back takes a jab step away with the QB taking a slide step it times out the same as it would out of one back. It is a very good play and you can adjust the alignment of your backs based on their quickness. Try it you'll like it.
