Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
It is a tough thing to do. You have to have a good (if not great) center who can snap the ball quickly and a QB who has good feet who can get their rear out of the way and not get tripped. Another thing to think about, can your guard's get a surge so the C does not have to give ground and risk running into the center? Only had a couple of centers that we felt could do that job, but we didn't have the guards in those years that we felt could get a great surge on any given play...thus didn't pull the center. If you're a gun team, then there is less of an issue with feet tangling, obviously. I'd be more apt to pull a great center out of the gun than from under center.

There is nothing that will show a man's true character like the 2 yard line.
We are a shotgun and will pull the center, if he is uncovered on our reverses. We have had good success doing this. We have tried to pull on other plays and had iffy success.
