Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Simple, overload one side with two lines. First line is to destroy anything in front of them. Outside man's job is to make sure the ball does not go out of bounds. Have a couple players following to recover the ball. Keep one man in the middle of the field (along with tht kicker) and keep one man along the far sideline. If the other team over-shifts, kicker is taught to simply pooch it away from the overload and it's an easy recovery for the single man. Works beautifully!

There is nothing that will show a man's true character like the 2 yard line.
I've scene even the Pros open games with the onside kick, I agree that the best time to do them is when your opponent isn't expecting it. Most teams today have their hands teams ready and that makes it harder when you really need it. I think the pooch is the best weapon when it comes to the onside kick.

We use a cluster kick as we break from the huddle. If we regular kick all 11 rush the ball and then break to line up, Return team must be ready for an onside. Coach Campbell
