Installing Today’s Hybrid Pistol Offense Run & Pass from Top to Bottom
This manual provides you with the full offensive line, receiver, and quarterback mechanics for installing each offensive play presented. Coach Campbell has left no stone unturned for implementing today’s Pistol Offense into your program.
Coach Mountjoy, I have been studying your pass pro rules and I would like to know how you would apply your 6 man fan-solid protection rules (RB check release) in a oneback doubles formation against a 3-3 stack:
PSG – first man online from center
PST – second man online from center
C – on away (either off or on the line)
BSG – same as above
BST – same as above
RB – read playside inside backer to playside invert or overhang
I base my 1 Back Protection scheme off Coach Mountjoys and we play several 3-3 Stack Teams (and pratice vs one).
I'd have the Center Block on, With each G & T combo reading "The Stack" of the DE & LB. The RB would have the MLB.
Another option would be to block man with the RT and have the rest of the Oline block the gap to their left. RB responsible for Backer in B Gap to outside pressure. If oline doesn't get a threat in the gap to their left, continue outside looking for extra edge rushers off that side.
